Member of the faculty at Istanbul University's Faculty of Theology, Department of Hadith, Prof. Dr. Bekir Kuzudişli’s book Hadis Tarihi(2017) is translated into English. The book has been recognized as a significant contribution to the field. This significant work was published by Gorgias Press under the title The History of Hadith: The Translation of the Prophet's works and the Six Canonical Books, with meticulous translation of Asmaa Ramil.

The book was translated and published with the assistance of the Meridian Association. The publication addresses the historical process by which the hadiths from the Prophet reached the authors of the Kutub al-Sittah and the subsequent formation of these fundamental sources. In order to present this process in a comprehensible way, the author focuses on the important developments that affected hadith narration in the period between the Prophet and the muhaddiths, all of whom lived in the Hijri third century. The book provides a comprehensive examination of the transmission and preservation of hadiths from one generation to the next. It incorporates visual aids, including maps, tables, and illustrations, to facilitate reader’s comprehension of the historical period.

The book, prepared especially for theology students and readers interested in Islamic sciences, deals with the historical process of the science of hadith with an outline and in-depth approach. Professor Kuzudişli's work is notable for its comprehensive approach, which synthesizes academic rigor with accessibility, making it a valuable resource for readers seeking a balance between depth and clarity in their understanding.

It is with great pleasure that we extend our contributions to the global audience of this esteemed work, with the aspiration that it will serve as a valuable addition to the ongoing discourse on the history of hadith within the academic literature.
