In the Jewish tradition as well, the institution of prophethood is amongst the basic institutions. This work addresses not the prophetic tradition in Judaism, but its conceptualization of prophethood in the abstract.

In this article, I would like to share with you some of my personal reflections on the hajj, a journey to the center of the Muslim world to where the faith began, not just for Muhammad (pbuh), but because it was where Abraham (pbuh) built the first house of pilgrimage dedicated to a monotheistic conception of God.

In Arabic the word 'Eid means "customary joy and sadness; a day for gathering together." According to Mahmud of Kashgar, bayram, the Turkish word for eid, is originally from the Persian bezrem/bezram, and it means a day of entertainment.

The most important of spiritual actions on that night is sincere repentance: one should seek to return to ones Lord through making the firm commitment to leave ones state of heedlessness and disobedience and also to turn ones heart in the direction of Divine Pleasure

The holy Ramadan is the month of patience. Patience is half of faith. The reward of patience is Paradise. During this month, worries leave the believers; their sustenance increases. The ones who feed the believers who fast are forgiven their sins, and are saved from the Fire, even if they are poor and cannot offer more than a date or a glass of milk, or a glass of water.

Fasting and the Quran will intercede for a person on the Day of Resurrection. Fasting will say, ‘O Lord, I deprived him of his food and his desires during the day, so let me intercede for him.’ And the Quran will say: ‘I deprived him of his sleep at night so let me intercede for him.’ Then they will intercede.”

The reason why fasting constitutes a form of worship in its truest form in all religions throughout history is the need to discipline human nature, which does not change, despite changes in time.  Fasting helps a great deal when a person tried to adopt good manners..
